WAVERLY WOODS GOLF CLUB NAMED MARYLAND COURSE OF THE YEAR
Waverly Woods will go on to represent Maryland in the National Golf Course of the Year Award to be determined by the National Golf Course Owners Association in November 2002. Past winners of the National award include Pinehurst #2, Bay Hill and Singing Hills Resort. Courses were judged according to the following criteria: 1) Exceptional Quality of the Course, 2) Exceptional Quality of the Management, 3) Outstanding Contribution to the Community and 4) Significant Contribution to the Promotion of the Game. Waverly Woods is an Arthur Hills designed 18-hole public golf course that opened in July 1998 to rave reviews. The course has received national and regional recognition including Golf Digest’s 4-Star Rating, Golf Magazine’s Top 10 Places to Play in the Mid-Atlantic and Maximum Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Best Bargains in the US. |
